These are traditional English Work Pots, with a dentil ornamentation added to the rim. This simple shape was the 19th century equivalent of today's plastic grower's pot. The form allows for easy removal of the plant for repotting.
These are marbled, which is a technique of folding together contrasting clays allowing a natural flow to create stone-like veining. The results are limitless and unrepeatable: no two pieces will ever share the same rhythm of blue earth and ochre.
