Details
Moon Jars are a traditional Korean form, made during the Joseon dynasty (1392–1910).  Moon Jars were traditionally made of white porcelain, fired to very high temperatures (2370 F°) in wood fired kilns.  Moon Jar proportions, which are spherical, with the mouth slightly wider than the base, can give the illusion that the pot is floating in air.  They are an icon of Korean history and culture, and have been a form revered by modern potters and collectors.
