The name "Half Pot" comes from the fact that these are the profile of the top half of a "Full Pot". A Half Pot will have a wide profile, and is good for planting several varieties in the same pot. In Victorian times, terracotta pots for use in the greenhouse were simple and unadorned. However to make these a bit more special, I've added ornamentation to the rim and foot using a coggle, or roulette, which makes a patterned impression in the clay.
