The Ripon is a shape that comes from my time working closely with my friend, Guy Wolff in the late '90's and early 2000's.  Guy's line of white clay flowerpots were featured in Horticulture magazine, on the Martha Stewart show, and featured prominently in Smith & Hawken stores.  During that time, Guy and I traveled the world looking for potters who could help make the large production needed for the wholesale market.  The Ripon is named for the city of Ripon, County of York, England, where we visited a wonderful traditional potter named Roly Curtis.  We also visited the beautiful Fountains Abbey ruins, with it's soaring arches and beautiful lines.  So this pot was inspired by that trip.
