I love ornamented rims.  A split rim allowes for more visual play in the ornamentation, and is very satisfying to make.  This one has an attached saucer. thrown in one piece, which was a popular way for 19th century potters to make flowerpots.  The pot and saucer are treated with an acrylic sealer to be water resistant.  A drainage hole in the side will allow excess water to be caught in the saucer, but care must still be taken not to overwater if on a surface that could be damaged.

  • Handthrown in Rockdale, Wisconsin
  • Fired to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Fired-on mineral wash finish
  • Drainage hole allows for direct planting. The saucer and base of the pot are treated with an acrylic sealer to make them water resistant, however, the base may still become damp after being watered.
  • For indoor and outdoor use, but not frost proof; store inside during winter months
