This pot is inspired by the attached saucer flowerpots made in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in the mid 19th century. Most often, Shenandoah pots had dentil ornamentation added with a coggle or roulette, while the pot was still wet on the potter's wheel. We've added a roped coggle to this version, which was another popular motif for potters of the time. We've made this in our Natural White Terracotta, which is perfect contrast for poinsettias, or other colorful plantings at the holidays.
